The Makita 18 Volt LXT® cordless straight shear features Makita built 4-pole motor that delivers 4,300 SPM for faster cutting. It has tough double-cut shear design that allows cutting up to 16 ga of mild steel, 18 ga of stainless steel and 22 ga spiral duct seams without deforming the material. Shear has swivel shear head that rotates to 360 degree to offer optimum cutting options and added convenience. Tool powered by an 18 Volt Lithium-Ion slide style battery assures fastest charge time, more working time and minimal sitting time on the charger. This shear with battery, weighs only 5.3 lb and has compact barrel grip design with rubberized soft grip that reduces user fatigue and provides increased comfort on the job. Straight shear featured with Star Protection Computer Controls™, allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time. This Star Protection communication technology also monitors condition while in use to safeguard against overloading, over discharging and overheating. Anti-restart protection feature in this tool helps to prevent motor start up when the battery is inserted with switch locked on. It has built-in alert light that provides overload motor protection warning and low battery recharge warning for user convenience.
