The Powermatic, 15BHH, PM1-477, 15-inch planer is designed for woodworking shops that require industrial durability in a versatile, stationary format. Powered by a 3 HP, 230V, 1 PH motor, this planer delivers consistent cutting performance for hardwoods and softwoods alike. Its 15-inch cutting width and 6-inch maximum thickness capacity provide the flexibility to surface a wide range of stock. A four-row helical cutterhead with 48 four-sided carbide inserts operating at 5200 RPM produces a refined surface finish with reduced noise and extended insert life, while convenient cutterhead access simplifies insert rotation and replacement. The built-in digital readout allows accurate, repeatable thickness adjustments, and two feed speeds of 16 and 28 FPM give operators the choice between efficient stock removal and finer finishing passes. Heavy cast iron tables with a full 48-inch table surface provide rigidity and vibration reduction for consistent results. A 4-inch bi-directional dust port supports effective chip evacuation with a 900 CFM requirement, while the upgraded caster locking and braking system and oversized emergency stop enhance shop mobility and operator safety.
