The Wilton B.A.S.H. sledge hammer features a safety plate as well, which securely holds the handle and head together, so the head doesn't come off when you strike a surface. Made from vulcanized rubber, the handle features a steel core; this patented Unbreakable® Handle Technology prevents it from breaking during use. The rubber handle on the brass sledge hammer offers a secure, non-slip grip. It's also ergonomically shaped, which increases your comfort while limiting the vibration you feel.
